Update... update!!

Since it was a bit cold and rained yesterday, I could only check places in Maadi for the potential costume. I did find a superhero collection in Fundays, I just though they were too cliché and well, stupid (sorry to all who dressed as superheroes in their childhood).

Needless to say that a pirate was ruled out and I won't even begin explaining why! (Shh Maat). Also the burglar wasn't something I wanted him to dress as, since well, let's say he has enough potential for that and I did not want to encourage it :)

My dad would not spare a tie for the nerdy look (the man has lost count of how many ties he has, yet he'd actually recognize if one was missing!!), and I won't begin talking about the shirt... men are weird that way!!

Could not find a cowboy hat (and didn't find a pair of cowboy boots either, maat) although we already had the plaid shirt and the matching bandanna and could have managed to find a rope! (bummer)

I even asked baba for his old construction hat, but his reply was "enty habla walla eh", and it wasn't in the form of a question!!

So basically, my attempts to be as creative as possible miserably failed since I could not find the stuff I needed.

All this was to prepare you for the final result

.......................

I got a jester's hat, and face paint...

I Dressed him in the most colorful top he has (one sleeve orange, the other has multi colors stripes and all, which seemed to boggle his mind for a while!).

He did not let me paint his face (I did mention he has too much ego for a kid his age, haven’t I?), so I wiped off the red nose & chin, and sent him wearing that colorful top with the hat that chimes.

I took a couple of photos, but they weren't great since he wanted to leave with my sis and kept shooing me away, will post one if he decides to let me take more photos when I pick him up.

I have a very strong feeling he would have resented me if I had used the face paint, I am even worried that one day when he's all grown up, he'd think the jester's hat was not a great thing to make a photo record of... I don't care, as his mother; I am entitled to cause some kind of damage, no?

no damage.. it's only a jester's hat, at least you didnt go for the high heels, purse, and make up :D (which by the way i think would've been okay with him)

beano da 3abeet, when i was little i wanted to get my face painted, but baba and mama thought it was "2araf"! hmmm.. maybe you should've gotten him funny jester shoes to go with the hat!

i am starting to doubt him being ok with anything other than lipstick or chap stick (only because he can't really tell the difference yet, but he sure likes my apple flavored chap stick)!! as for the heels and the purse.... i think he's outgrowing them since he has his own collection of footwear and his new backpack... ok, he still has a shoe fetish..

which reminds me, what's with you and shoes; first the cowboy boots and now the jester shoes, r u ok??
i know we both need new pairs, but take it easy :)

2 years ago i dressed my nephew up as Fatouta for his christmas party.

People were stopping us in the street to take photos.

It was an instant hit.

You know babe what would have been an instant hit - but you didnt listen. Oh well - when he's old enough I will tell him Your Aunt Jade wanted to dress you up differently - but your mom wasnt daring enough

I'm sure he will be very very disappointed in you. Especially when he is old enough to understand the ego impact that I was suggesting.

Oh well... maybe next year.

& by the way - it would have been so easy to find the material you need.

"Creativity" --> was all you needed. (& some balls too I guess - but it seems you already have those)

I bet Jade wanted to dress him as a pimp or sthg...

hurricane, u should check my blog early on the day on daily basis (at least working days) to catch up, and u r almost welcomed to give suggestion, u kow for the next time... no happy tree friends suggestions tho :)) i have maat for that!

joujou, ya moftareya ya adra... lol, we kaman assuming he's innocent and so are the kids at the nursery (yeah right), they wouldn't have gotten it... i almost had all the material tho, which is alarming!

whether he'll be disappointed or not when he grows up and knows, depends on the kinda guy he'll turn out to be :)

u know it's neither creativity nor imagination i lack... balls however, i definitely lack them that way.. hehe

anyway, i have to get his written consent if i'm ever to dress him that way :)))))))

max, fatouta is brilliant, egyptian culture and all, better than a cowboy that way...

my son would have appreciated the big shoes, same for maat :) i will ask ur permission tho if i decide to use it later...

u will NEVER guess what jade suggested... u can read my reply to her over and over but u won't get it :))) or perhaps u will, depends..

Na3am ya bet enty??
Who said it was gonna be for him or for the kids! It was gonna be a shocker for all the parents there - plus you should have gone instead of Maat & possibly met some single father there who is looking for a cool hotty as yourself & wanna hook up - like NOW!

Plus - if your son shall turn out to be a straignt man - of course he will appreciate it! What are you talking about?

& what's all this shit about written consent! Dear - that's the best part of being a mother - you can send him off anywhere - dress him anyway, humiliate them in any way! & have lots of fun cause you are the momma! hahhaa - I cant wait to play with my own kids for my own satisfaction & believe me - that'll be the only reason to have them really!

i did go with him, he just insisted on going in maat's car himself! but i was right behind them...

no no no, when i want shock ppl, i will do it myself and won't use my bommmba... don't want him to turn into a psycho and kill me one day.. hehe...

we single fathers eh we neelet eh bas, mesh 3ayza 7aga khales KHALES.. i want my divorce to be final and that would be all thank u very much :))

when did u say u were leaving for dubai btw??
