Something I just have to blurt out!!

Ok, I can understand if you’re an atheist…

I can also understand if you’re agnostic…

I can even try and tolerate your endless obscene and crude remarks on almost everything…

I just can’t take the condescending attitude or how offensive you get when you describe those things you dislike…

Seriously! Why the hell offend the very same things you accuse of being offensive!!! I mean, hello, you’re doing exactly the very same thing you resent and reject; don’t you accuse all religions and those who practice them of judging you, labeling you, and cursing you? Whatever makes you think you’re any better than them in your own eye?

News flash, YOU’RE NOT!

You’re merely someone who couldn’t fit anywhere and decided to make a world for you and those who feel exactly like you! If it had just stoped there, I’d completely respect it; hell, I’d start my own world with my own beliefs and invite people who are like me to join too…

But don’t offend, don’t judge and don’t curse anything or anyone just because you don’t fit or you don’t understand… yes, we all hate feeling rejected or labeled, that’s why I understand that you’re angry…

You don’t need to offend me because I happen to believe, you shouldn’t assume my scarf covers a brainless scull just because I chose to practice that little… And you simply can’t assume that I am dumb because I pretend not to understand the sex jokes and give you the satisfaction of seeing the disgust on my face…

And don’t think I don’t understand your sick words, I just choose to pretend like I never heard them before because it’s easier than throwing up all over your twisted notions!!

I would have really tried to understand and even respected all the things you are, if only you had tried, just tried to show a little understanding of who I am and the things I believe in…

So there is another side to the coin you so much dislike, and guess what, you’re on it!

(and I didn’t offend, at least not as tastelessly!!!)

P.S. this is addressed to all the idiots who go about publishing their garbage of so called free opinions offending everyone and giving a bad name to those who share their beliefs!! It is not against any belief or practice, at least not those who do not offend others.

*applauding*

what you're trying to say is " if you desire respect, you should show respect first. " right?

I'm so sick of this world really..... everything is subjected to prejudice and everyone think arrogantly.... it's just sick!

Don't get this the wrong way but sweetie, u r contradicting urself! You r asking 4 respect thu u already judged them that they don't understand and they couldn't "fit". You also did exactly the same when u called them brainless ppl that didnt even try to understand ur belief! =)

Time to re-think and understand why what they said touched u deep inside which made u post such an angry and defensive post?

IQ...

i KNEW you were gonna say something like that :)

luckily i had it in mind after i finished it... hence the P.S.

like ok, don't you get this the wrong way...

i have no problem with your beliefs or your practices, if anything i respect that you try to keep an open mind... we have different perceptions, you and me... i am a veiled girl who would normally be labeled as a "prude" among other things, not to mention the "divorcee" label i carry with utter pride... you are gay and you're getting out of the real life closet day after the other, and i know you're agnostic (i read it somewhere!)... normally we wouldn't be friends; however, we have it in us to see beyond those differences and how each of us would not fit into the other's world... and we give each other different perspectives... i respect that...

(question tho, would you have really read through my blog and enjoyed it knowing in advance that i was veiled???)

now those i had in mind... i did not already judge them, they already complained about not fitting in and how the world does not accept them or their beliefs, and they explicitly showed their lack of respect, not only to those who supposedly reject them, but to those who are not rejected... i mean it is anger multiplied by hatred and it is going in every direction...

i don't recall calling anyone brainless, perhaps i think it... because if someone has enough intellect they'd know better than to make assumptions on me or anyone else based on how we dress (7egab basically)...

we kaman the sad part is that they preach day and night about accepting others for who they are, and then they come to you and look you in the eye as they insult everything you are while smirking at your facial expression... i tell you, there is nothing to respect...

and i know the reason why it touched me deep inside (i wrote that last week btw)... mostly because it involved a friend, and secondly because i also don't fit in myself, neither in my own world where i seemingly belong, nor in any other world i have seen yet, but i don't go around hating people and calling them things they might not be...

so IQ, it was not about the beliefs or the practice i do not agree with, it was about people obscenely attacking people for no good reason...

tolerance goes both ways, or at least it should...

was that clear enough for you to not argue back? :P

Exactly! We all should do that!

"(question tho, would you have really read through my blog and enjoyed it knowing in advance that i was veiled???)"
I wouldn't care anyway if u r veiled or not! And yes I knew u r veiled lol Spectra? rings any bell?

"i did not already judge them, they already complained about not fitting in and how the world does not accept them or their beliefs, and they explicitly showed their lack of respect, not only to those who supposedly reject them, but to those who are not rejected... i mean it is anger multiplied by hatred and it is going in every direction...

"
Aha! so the problem is mostly about 7egab! well, I agree with u then. Though I've different opinion about 7egab but I believe that everyone is entitled to do whatever he/she wants as long as it doesn't harm others! =)

"
we kaman the sad part is that they preach day and night about accepting others for who they are, and then they come to you and look you in the eye as they insult everything you are while smirking at your facial expression... i tell you, there is nothing to respect...
"
Maho the disrespect started from your(not necessarily you lol) side:
قال صلى الله عليه وسلم: من بدل دينه فاقتلوه. رواه البخاري
وقال: لا يحل دم امرئ مسلم إلا بإحدى ثلاث:.... والتارك لدينه المفارق للجماعة
although:
لا إِكْرَاهَ فِي الدِّين [البقرة: 256].
ya3ni it's unfair to ask atheists or agnostics to 100% respect you while ur religion already wants their blood!

Anyway, I'm an Atheist but I just keep to myself and don't go preach or try to convert others but sometimes I criticize Religions and other radicals of relgions like wahabism and salafism but with ppl who r intellectual enough not to get offended...and sometimes I can't take it anymore(read this, http://confessions-room.blogspot.com/2009/08/there-is-no-such-thing-as-talent-there.html)

me again, i just wanna say (call me crazy)but i always found veiled girls pretty, and don't let anyone tell you other wise, every one is trying to promote their ways
in fact i found veiled women so pretty and attractive..! i married one, and i felt that way even when i was living in the fast lane very fast lane, in a western country with total freedom and free choice.

IQ :)

so we kinda agree, mostly anyway...

however...

it was not about 7egab, i am just saying that i am aware that my being mo7agaba is like a sign of hostility to some; they assume i am judging them just because of it and they do the same... when this happens, truth is, they are judging me for no good reason based on their prejudice which was perhaps caused by them being victims of prejudices.... bas fel akher, i (as in myself) did not start that, and i know of a lot f veiled girls whose minds work like mine and they are as open minded and understanding as one can be... fa i am sorry, i expect more from people who claim to be intellectual and liberal and you know, worldly, atheists or agnostics or neutral....

and of course i know you know i am veiled... i do remember (ana mesh mastoola, lol)... i meant before that....

as for the part where you quoted religion... i am not judging them by my religion or my religious standards, or any religious standards for that matter, i am "judging" them by their own notions - "accept the other"

i almost never get into heated religious arguments, la2en i believe that no one can defend faith, any faith because it comes from within each and every one of us and that we're all entitled to our own faiths... i am not in a place to judge anyone for their choice, but i can't help but judge when i am being judged... and i am sorry, but i will not be the scapegoat for them being previously judged by my religion or religious radicals just because i wear a veil :)

i realize en we did not disagree, but i can't help but smile because you just couldn't fight the urge to comment... always welcomed to do so nonetheless :)

oh will read the post when i am home; it took me almost 6 hours to write the comment since i keep getting interrupted, by work (ahem, i should be working!)

insomniac said...

M,

thanks for your nice and flattering words :)

hahaa, no one is trying to make me doubt how pretty i am :) my being veiled is just a catalyst like i explained to IQ... thanks tho!

Inso, you just have a beautiful mind! =) and if we talked about prejudices from both sides mesh hanekhlas hehe

(about continue reading ur blog knowing that u r veiled, magatsh el fekra fi demaghi aslan =D which means i don't really care if u r veiled or not!)

insomniac said...

thanks :)

i meant BEFORE spectra!!! yabne rakkez!!!

i know that at this point and even before that you didn't care... i am not dense, ya3ne why else do you keep coming back and commenting ;P
